Creator Glimpsed Serving Tea
Poetic Journeys by Derek
Evans Okanagan Institute Kelowna BC

Here is the title poem. |

"Most of us, most of the time, seem to rush through our lives in a blur of
plans and preoccupations, of schedules and fears. We press our way and
spend our time in weighty chunks – of months and years, of decades and
careers. Every now and then something may happen that allows us to step
outside of our usual patterns, and to notice for a fleeting moment the
power and beauty of the ordinary. For me, that rare moment tends to arrive
when I am a traveler, when I am forced to scramble and grapple for
perspective, when I am challenged to find a sense of being at home though
surrounded by different lives in a distant place. Or just around the
corner."
Thus begins Creator Glimpsed Serving Tea by Derek Evans, the second
chapbook in the series from the Okanagan Institute. |

discerningly - in our case it was as a group of faculty, staff and students at the University of Calgary - will find universal spiritual meaning presented here. Any person of religion, or none, could grow spiritually as a result of reading
this book." Wayne Holst, Colleagues' List "It's difficult to select any
one of the 38 chapters as better than another. Each is a gem. ... If you asked me to name a sole companion on a desert island, my first choice would be Derek Evans." Lorraine Williams Contributing Editor Catholic Register "Dispatches From the Global Village is an invitation to sit for a while with stories from a great peacemaker. If you accept this invitation, prepare to be informed,
shocked and inspired. This powerful book will change how you imagine how the world is, and how the world can be." Carolyn Pogue author of After the Beginning and Seasons of Peace |
